I’m a contributing writer for The Atlantic, and I write essays, features, and reviews for n+1, The New York Times Magazine, Harper’s Magazine, The Guardian, The Believer, and others. This essay was a finalist for a 2019 National Magazine Award for feature writing. This one received a 2016 Pushcart Prize. This one was selected for publication in Best American Essays 2016. I’ve been awarded fellowships and residencies from PioneerWorks, the Millay Colony for the Arts, Art OMI, and others. I’m currently a 2020-2021 fellow at the Black Mountain Institute.
